When looking for Sage 100 support, beware of bogus websites offering support, or calling Sage support and mistakenly get to Sage 100 CONTRACTOR support instead of Sage 100 ERP support.

3rd party Sage Support sites may not have authorized support staff. On a suspect site, scroll ALL THE WAY to the bottom their web page – and you may see a disclaimer saying (for example):

Disclaimer – This website is independent from Sage and is not authorized to make any statement, representation, or warranties or grant any license or permission on behalf of Sage regarding any product, service, or website content. Certain materials made available on or through this website are owned by Sage and cannot be used without the prior written permission of Sage.

In one case, the support person then proceeds to run some data validation routine on a company’s Sage 100 files, then tells them their files are corrupt and their system needs to be reinstalled and the files all fixed, and in one case quoted about $5000 to do so.
