Sage has officially announced that Sage BusinessVision will officially reach end of life 12/31/2026 – no more updates and no more support from Sage. Sage FAQ points users towards Sage 300 (no conversion tool provided) or Sage 50 (Canadian version, fka Simply Accounting, not the US Sage 50, fka Peachtree) which can convert master files but not transactions.

Software publisher Spire Systems started as a BusinessVision partner and developed BV Essentials, which added capabilities to BusinessVision. They created Spire about 10 years ago following Sage’s initial EOL Announcement (which was later rescinded). Spire has complete BusinessVision conversion capabilities baked in, including historical transactions, and continues to be actively developed.

For companies still running BusinessVision, the time to put away “but I don’t want to change my business software” is really here. Doing nothing is no longer an option. Don’t wait until a Windows update hoses your ERP, or you have a critical problem that needs support which is no longer available. Converting to Spire will preserve all your transaction history and equip you with a modern, growing ERP system. Spire gives you the option of staying on -premise, or having your data hosted in their cloud or in a cloud server of your own. Change your mid about hosting later? Back up your data and move it to another server.

Friendly Systems is here to help make the transition to the future as smooth and painless as possible.
