Microsoft plans to stop Windows XP Security patches in April 2014. XP no longer contributes to Microsoft’s bottom line, hence — more than 12 years after the product was first released — they plan to stop releasing public updates and patches in April 2014. Cybercriminals target widely installed systems that sport known vulnerabilities. By discontinuing security patches, Windows XP will increasingly become a security risk to your organization. Check your workstations to see who is still running Windows XP and develop a security plan before April of next year.
