Sage MAS 90 and MAS 200 Sales Tax files in version 4.10

Tuesday, August 29th, 2006

The Sage MAS 90 and MAS 200 Sales Tax jurisdiction files SY_01,SY_02,…_03,…_04, SY_05 kept in the MAS90/SOA folder for versions up to 4.05 are kept in the MAS90/MAS_SYSTEM folder for version 4.10 using names such as SY_SalesTaxCode.M4T and SY_SalesTaxSchedule.M4T.
Keep this in mind if you transfer sales tax information between version 4.10 systems.
It can be confusing, since the older version files SY_01, SY_02, etc. are still on the 4.10 system in the Mas90/SOA folder, but are no longer used.
The Sales Tax Invoice Transaction detail information is still kept in the MAS_ccc/ARccc (ccc=company code) folder for each company. Up to version 4.05, this file was was named ARVccc.SOA In version 4.10 forward, this file is named AR_SalesTax.M4T and has a different structure than the ARVccc file used in earlier versions.

Sage MAS 90 4.2 Accounts Payable

Monday, August 21st, 2006

Specific enhancements planned for Sage MAS 90 and MAS 200 4.20 Accounts Payable include grid-style data entry and the ability to sort vendor invoice and check information by any column heading in the display. Another useful tool is that AP Vendor memos can be set to display within a certain time frame for any combination of 12 different tasks involving AP Vendors. That includes AP functions such as Invoice Entry, Manual Check Entry and Check Maintenance. It also includes Purchase Order functions such as Purchase Order Entry, Receipt of Goods, Receipt of Invoice and Return of Goods entry. That makes it a great tool to communicate notes for a certain vendor to the relevant people within the relevant time range that an agreement or a situation is applicable. See previous entry on the rollout schedule for version 4.20 during the fall of 2006.

Friday, August 18th, 2006

Sage MAS 90 and MAS 200 version 4.20 is slated for release during the fall of 2006. They plan to have controlled and early-adopter releases in October with the full release scheduled by the end of 2006. The 4.20 release brings their Accounts Payable module up to their business framework architecture previously added to GL, AR and Sales Order modules. They say they are being cautious about the rollout to be sure the release is well tested before being made available to all of their Mas90 and Mas200 customer base.
